Policies

Registration
Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis and open to adults ages 18 and up unless specified. Pre-registration is required for class participation.

Confirmations
Participants are enrolled in a class upon receipt of registration with payment and will be notified if a class is filled or cancelled. Confirmations are provided via email if email address is provided with registration.

Wait list
When a class is filled, participants may be placed on a wait list. If an opening becomes available, participants on the wait list will be contacted by Adult Learning staff.

Refunds
Customer-initiated cancellations made at least five business days before the class is scheduled to start may qualify for a refund less $10 per class. Customer-initiated cancellations made less than five business days before the class is scheduled to start are not eligible for a refund. Activities with low enrollment may be canceled, in which case participants will be notified and payment refunded.

Fee Assistance
Limited fee assistance is available for qualified participants. For information call 763-506-5766.

School district cancellations
Check the school district or Community Education website for cancellation notices. Generally, in-person classes and activities will be cancelled if the school district closes due to inclement weather. Online classes may go on as scheduled. Adult classes cancelled due to school district closeures will be rescheduled or payment refunded.

Accessibility
Community Education welcomes participants of all abilities. Reasonable accommodations are available with a minimum of a 72-hour notice. To request an accommodation, please call 763-506-5766 or email info@discovercommunityed.com. 

Satisfaction guarantee
Please call Anoka-Hennepin Community Education if you are not satisfied with a class that you have attended.
 
Safety disclaimer
There is an inherent risk of accident or injury in any activity. It is the responsibility of each participant to be aware that there are assumed risks involved in participation. Anoka-Hennepin School District assumes no responsibilities for injuries received during activities. Any changes in participants' current activity level should be done under the approval and direction of their physician/health care provider.

Photos and video
Anoka-Hennepin Schools staff, volunteers, representatives of the news media and others occasionally photograph and videotape participants in our programs. The photos and videos may be used for district and departmental promotions, or in school and department-related publications, videos, web and social media sites as appropriate. Anoka-Hennepin Community Education will take reasonable steps to prevent participants who prefer not to be photographed/videotaped, but cannot guarantee that participants will not be photographed/videotaped as part of a large group or public event, such as a theatre production or athletic event.

Registration and payment
Registration and payment is required for all classes and outings. Walk-ins are not accepted. Please complete one registration form for each participant. Students are encouraged to register early as activities and classes fill quickly. 
 
Refunds and cancellations 
Requests with at least five business days notice from the class start date are eligible for a refund minus a$10 processing fee. Refund requests with less than five business days notice from the start of class are not eligible for a refund.

Supervision
Participants requiring personal assistance for physical and/or behavioral issues must be accompanied and supervised in class and outings by the caregiver. Please accompany participants to class locations (classrooms) and pick-up the participant in the classroom. Instructors are not available to supervise participants prior to class start time or after classes end.  Instructors are not licensed to administer medication. If medication is required during a class or outing, a caregiver must attend to administer the medication. A caregiver must accompany participants with active seizure disorders.

Photo release
By checking "yes" on the registration form, you give Anoka-Hennepin Community Education permission to use your photograph online or in publications. Participant names will not be printed.

Transportation
Transportation to and from activities and classes is the responsibility of the participant or caregiver. 

Registration
Register online using a Visa, MasterCard or Discover card. It's convenient, secure and available 24-hours a day. Registration can also be completed by phone or in-person at each school's Community Schools office or at the main Community Education office located at 2727 N. Ferry St., Anoka, MN 55303.

Payment and Confirmation
Participants are enrolled in the class upon receipt of registration and payment. Registrations are not complete without payment. A registration confirmation will be emailed to you if an email address is provided. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Wait list
If a class is full at the time of your registration, you may request to be placed on a waiting list. You will not be charged unless class space becomes available, in which case you will be notified by phone or email.

Cancellations and Refunds

Inclement weather
All activities and classes that are canceled due to school closures or inclement weather will not be rescheduled. Credits are not issued for cancellations due to school closings and inclement weather conditions.

• School-year: Community Education activities and classes will be cancelled if Anoka-Hennepin Schools are closed due to inclement weather.
• Summer: The decision to cancel activities and classes will be made by the class instructors at the class location just prior to class time.

Accommodation requests
Community Education welcomes participants of all abilities. People with disabilities registering for community education programs may request reasonable accommodates with advance notice. To request an accommodation, please write your accommodation needs on the registration form. This document will be provided in alternate formats within three-days notice. Please contact your school Community Education office with your request.

Fee information and assistance
ECFE classes use a sliding fee scale to determine the class fee. NO one will be turned away because of an inability to pay. Please call the ECFE office at 763-506-1275 for payment assistance.

Class confirmation
Families are enrolled in a class upon receipt of registration and payment. A registration confirmation will be emailed upon completion of registration.

Lottery registration
Registration for ECFE classes is done through a lottery, giving everyone an equal chance to receive their first-choice class. Once the lottery is complete, payment will be processed, and a confirmation of your class or classes will be emailed.

School district cancellations
Acitivites and classes do not meet when Anoka-Hennepin Schools are closed due to inclement weather. Check the school district or the community education website for cancellation notices. Individual programs determine if activities or classes will be rescheduled. All outdoor activities that are canceled will not be rescheduled or refunded.
