Gearing Up for Kindergarten

Kindergarten is a major transition in the life of a child and also for parents/guardians. It's both stressful and exciting! This summer, Pre-K to Grade 3 parent educators will host informational sessions to help you in preparing your child for success in school. These sessions are for parents/guardians in the Anoka-Hennepin School District that have a child(ren) entering kindergarten in fall 2026.

Join us for information, resources and support! Each week a licensed parent educator will meet with parents/guardians for parenting discussions online. The final session will be held in-person for parents and their kindergartener to tour a kindergarten classroom.

Pre-K to Grade 3 parent educators will also host two fun-filled gatherings to connect with other incoming kindergarten families while children play at the playground!

2026 Playground Sessions

Join Pre-K to Grade 3 parent educators for a fun-filled gathering to connect with other incoming kindergarten families while children play at the playground! This will be a chance to ask questions, share information, and receive resources to make the transition to kindergarten as smooth and stress-free as possible. Your parent educators will have information to support your family’s transition. Come for the play, stay for the support! Sign up for the session that fits your schedule, not your attendance area. Each session is separate, you do not need to attend all of them. Kindergarten age children are welcome at this event. These events are for incoming kindergarten students and their parents/guardians. No sibling care will be provided.
