ECFE classes

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) offers high-quality programs designed to support you in your parenting efforts.

  • Strengthen parenting skills.
  • Discover activities to help children learn.
  • See your child thrive and make new friends.
  • Grandparents are welcome to register for classes with their grandchildren, too.

What are ECFE classes like?

Parents/caregivers and children will spend time together enjoying activities designed to enhance learning, whether it is with children the same age as your child or with a group of mixed-age children. Mixed-age classes also give families with multiple children the opportunity to attend class together, at the same time. Families will leave class with new ideas and activities to do together at home.

  • Parents/caregivers and children participate in activities and experiences that encourage children to play and explore.
  • Parents/caregivers and a licensed parenting educator meet to share ideas and discuss topics such as development, temperament, and guidance.
  • While parents/caregivers participate in parenting education, children learn through play while taking part in a variety of activities in the classroom with early childhood educators.
  • ECFE is provided by teachers who are licensed in early childhood and/ or parenting education by the state of Minnesota.
